Another month has passed since I last blogged and I sunk further and further into my new status as awful website abandoner.

The funny thing is that it’s not like I am spending less time online, or have the excuse that I have more important things to do — it’s just that I run so many other sites that somewhere along the way Swaymyway.com became low down on my list of online things to do.

I’d promise I am going to revive it, make it a new years resolution to blog at least a few times per week. But I’d be lying to ya

Dreamhost confirmed they won’t be giving me a refund for the 6 months of unused but paid for hosting. It does state this in their terms and always has done so I don’t have a leg to stand on in terms of complaining — but I will be spreading the word to any one and every time I see Dreamhost mentioned that no one should ever prepay with them, you may save a few bucks in the short term but it’s not worth the risk that 1 month after you’ve paid up they decide their archaic servers can’t handle your website any more and ask you to either stump up for dedicated hosting or sod the hell off — then it’s goodbye to all that lovely cash you just paid.

Down with Dreamhost, spread the word dudes!

* I got a lovely Christmas bonus on Monday so I went out and did what any respectable woman would do — I bought a fancy party dress, some underwear and three pairs of shoes in the sale
* I can’t believe it’s Christmas Eve already, it has sure come by quick. I am usually way more excited than this.
* I am very excited that Celebrity Big Brother begins in just over a weeks time.
* This is wrong on so many levels:

Who starts their sale on Christmas Day? Come on now, Christmas day is for lounging in front of the telly, enjoying the gifts you have received, getting a little squiffy.

It is not for sitting at your computer browsing online sales. Is nothing sacred any more?

What sucks however, is the fact I will be one of the sad nacks who cannot resist the lure of the mighty post Christmas sale and will probably end up spending a good portion of my day online — curse you sale loving gene, cuuurrrssseee youuuu!

Yeah, no excuse…I have just lost the knack for running a personal blog, nothing much changes or goes on in my life these days that needs talking about, that never used to bother me…I could rant on for eons about nothing, but these days there are – to be completely honest – other things I would rather spend my time online doing, like playing bingo and working on my other websites that I make money from running *shrug*

So here’s what I will talk about today, something that I do still have the ability to rattle on about….Big Brother!

I’ve been watching Big Brother UK and Australia again this year, and am eagerly awaiting Big Brother USA in at the end of next week. Big Brother Australia is nearing it’s end now, only a few weeks left, and I have to say that I have fallen out of love with it a little bit, the public have continually voted out the people I like the most, leaving an extremely dull final line up – Cherry, Alice, Rory, Ben – all nice people, but about as interesting to watch as paint drying. I adored Renee, Nobbi and Terrence but they all got evicted, because they actually had personalities. Brigitte is an awful human being, she’s entertaining alright but she’s a nasty, rude, spoilt little cow and I hate the fact her popularity means her bahviour is validated makes me a little queasy. That leaves Travis and Terri, I wouldn’t mind either of them winning, they stand out, the do have opinions and they have entertained me – but it’s a case of them being the best of a bad bunch, in any other series I doubt they’d have even been on my radar. Nobbi should have won, and he’ll always be the one I most remember from this year.

Big Brother UK is about a month in, and so far every eviction has gone the way I want it to…which is very unusual for Big Brother UK, usually I am the person who seems to want the opposite to everyone else – I loved Charley last year! Having said that there have only been 3 actual evictions, what with two people having got themselves removed for being discusting human beings – Alex for making ‘gangster threats’ and Dennis for spitting in poor Mohameds face.

Poor Mohamed indeed, he comes across as such a kind and gentle soul to me – his only downside seems to be that he’s a bit of a human dustbin who eats more than his fair share of the food – but the amount of hate and viciousness he’s had aimed at him for no apparent reason makes me really feel for the guy. I am hoping one of the gorgeous new girlies will fall madly in love with him and make him all better, or something.

I am currently strongly disliking Bex – horrible chav, Luke – nasty little stirrer (though he is funny), Mario – the fucking facilitator my arse and Dale – Like like like, um, like yeah. The kid is a moron of epic proportion.

I am completely indifferent to Lisa, Mikey, Rachel and Stuart – there’s a lot of wallpaper to try take down this year.

I am in love with Kat – she can be annoying, but she has a heart of gold, Darnell – there’s a guy who tells it like it is, Mo – Sweet kid, Rex – arrogant and cocky as all hell, but he has the right to be…I love his deadpan sense of humour and honesty.

I am yet to form an opinion on the new girls, since they have only been in the house 1 full day. Overall though, I am enjoying the season so far…hopefully that continues cos I haven’t been a huge fan the last few years.

Gav and I got along swimmingly, 8 days we were together…that’s actually the longest we have spent together in a long long while…I was worried we’d run out of things to say or start hating on each other, especially as he was off work so we were literally together 24/7, but it was all good, of course it was – we get on very well most of the time :throb:

We went shopping one day and I got a little cardigan in the sale, I have been after one for months mainly just to wear around the house but didn’t want to pay £15+ for one (yes, I am that cheap ) so finding this for a fiver was perfect, and it’s so nice that it’s already been worn out several times and isn’t just an ‘at home’ item, woo. Though I only bought that to cheer myself up after my beautiful snow boots that I mentioned in the last entry got cancelled due to stock issues, boooooo, I am still sore about that over a week later. We had a kebab one day, we went to subway twice, we had a Greggs chicken bake one day and we went out to eat in Weatherspoons one night with Jonathan. We went to the pub one night, we played a little golf and we were meant to be going to the cinema to see Juno with some free preview tickets I had got but I got the day wrong so we missed it. Oooops.

When I got back I got straight back into my usual healthy eating and working out, even though Gav was here and I don’t usually work out in front of any one! But I knew that if I didn’t hop straight back on the elliptical, it’d get harder and harder to.

I also had the most amazing item of post waiting for me to open, two in fact…one was a slight ‘windfall’ that I wasn’t expecting and the other is something I am going to talk about in my next entry, as first I need to go and do some serious thanking of some certain lovely SwayForum members :hyper::heart:

In other quick news, it’s the Big Brother Celebrity Hijack finale tonight, it’s honestly been a really enjoyable series and makes me have some faith that BB9 will be better than the last few years have been. Nice housemates, interesting housemates, change in format, no Davina (sorry, but not a Davina fan), good celebrities, few arguments but lots of tension, lots of humour, the ‘right’ people have been being evicted for a change and there’s not been not toooo much manipulation from producers :thumbsup:
I am rooting for Jeremy to win, yeah he’s a bit of a mean twat but I like that in a guy, I like his sense of humour and he reminds me a lot of Gav to be honest…I’d also love to see Amy win, she’s strong and has that same sense of dry humour, she’s a girl who knows her mind but isn’t a bitch. I don’t want to see Nathan or Anthony win, they fit the ‘generic’ Big Brother image of safe, nice, boring, attractive guys who win because the teenage girls fancy them!

So, Happy New Year you lovelies you. Gavin got off work early and drove up here, despite having to head back for work the next day and not having a day off in 2 weeks, aww :throb: He didn’t arrive until 11pm though, so it was too late to really do anything. So we just drove off up the way at about 20 to 12 and found a great contryfied lane to park on, then we got out of the car and watched the fireworks at midnight. It was pretty awesome, we got a really good spot because you could see for miles in 3 directions and the fireworks were going on for a good 15 – 20 minutes! Then it was back to mine for some mindless TV, drinkies, foodies and bringing in the new year with a bang

I have seen a bunch of people post about their 2007, the highs and lows and achievements and failures etc – I am not going to do that because 2007 was a bit of a nothing year for me, nothing great happened, nothing horrible happened, no major changes to relationship status, employment status, living arrangements etc. I have also seen a bunch of people posting their new years resolutions and I am also not going to do that, I don’t do new years resolutions – I feel like no one really means them when they make them, it’s just something to do because others are doing it, and that’s why most have failed within a month. I did however scribble down a few ‘goals’ I have set for my online endeavours over the next few months that I will share with you.

* Bring Swaymyway.com back to it’s former glory – It’s clear that in 2007 I abandoned this blog, taking that 2-3 month hiatus really wasn’t the best idea it turns out, it’s amazing how fast ‘loyal’ visitors disappear if you don’t feed them for a while. Though even before, and after the hiatus it’s obvious I haven’t been putting much effort into running this site. So bringing it back to it’s former glory will involve a) Making a new layout, no template…something I make myself. This current layout has been up how long? b) Getting traffic back up, so prepare for lots of return comments and social networking site widgets. c) Removal of all adverts except the banner ads. No one clicks on the adsense ads here any way, so I may as well remove them and concentrate on optimizing them on other sites instead. d) blog at least twice a week.

* Plugboard.org – as above. It has been pretty abandoned and left to run itself over the last year. The ads are more lucrative so will stay, but traffic needs improving greatly.

* RealityTVFan.org – Work to get more hits and research more money making opportunities.

* Create a new weight loss site. I am planning on registering a new domain to blog about my weight loss, honestly…it’s for the money, I won’t lie. RealityTVFan.org has shown me how easy it is to make an income online, setting up a site to make money – why didn’t I ever do this before? I’d never ‘sell out’ swaymyway and plugboard in this way, because they are ‘personal’ sites, they were never created with the intention to make money…but RealityTVFan.org was and it’s easy. I chose weight loss as the subject for the simple fact that it is part of my daily life, working out, eating right, trying to be healthy are all things I do every day – so it’ll be easy for me to blog about often, add content and as it’s a ‘journey’ constantly add to etc. I need to come up with a name though, I can’t think of any thing good…and even the not so good stuff I come up with is all taken, it’s amazingly hard to come up with any sort of weight loss related domain name that isn’t already taken. Any suggestions?

* Go to bed earlier. “That’s not online related you silly” I hear you thinking (yes, I can hear you think…beware!), but it’s the Internet that keeps me up until past 6am most nights…namely Bingo…since discovering free* bingo it’s actually become my main source of money, but in order to make as much as I do I need to play when the rooms are quiet…aka the dead of night. So although come 5am I am ready for bed and demanding I log off, when there’s just a few people playing and I am winning it’s hard to tear myself away, knowing if I stay another hour or so I can make $20 – $40.

And that is all.

So today I am going to bore the pants off most of you I am sure, by talking about Big Brother :eye: cos if you don’t already know, I am what they might call an ‘obsessive fan’. I’ll start off with Big Brother UK 8, which has already been going for what seems like forever and ends this coming Friday, firstly let me just say ‘Hello, my name is Starlet and I am about the only person in the country who liked Charley *waves*’ – It’s an entertainment show people, not a morality show….and Charlie provided more entertainment in her time in the house than the rest of them put together! I also still think of poor Emily & wonder what the series could have been like if she’d stayed, damn that Jade Goody, Emily suffered for her racism in Celebrity Big Brother 5.
The ‘Chiggy’ relationship made me want to vomit and/or tear out my hair on a daily basis, I’d say they are perfect for each other because they are both such atrocious excuses for human beings, but I can’t because I can’t bring myself to be that nice about them. Chanelle needs to grow up, learn to take some responsibility for own actions, get her jealousy under control and grow her own personality and identity (I wonder if Victoria Beckham has taken out a restraining order yet?) and Ziggy, “well…ya know…simple…ya know? Well, I mean…it’s simple, ya know? end of really.” – Who’s ever heard the guy make sense rather than talk in a bloody circle?! Now we are down to the final, I don’t care who wins really…I know it won’t be tyrannical Carole, or mumbling Ziggy as they simply don’t have the support, I don’t especially like Mr Smug aka Liam but it won’t be the end of the world if he wins, Brian, the Twins and Jonty are all lovely and I’d be happy to see them win it, but I don’t feel any of them deserve it…they’ve coasted through by being nice guys, avoiding conflict, keeping out of tricky situations, not having opinions. My personal favourite, and someone I thought was a very worthy winner, walked out of there just over a week ago…the wonderful Gerry :throb: I can at least take comfort in the fact he’s the person to leave the house with the lowest ever eviction percentage

Overall I have to say the series has been balls, as bad as if not worse than last years…which I thought was as low as it could go…too much manipulation, no decent tasks, flopping twists & the public keep voting out the wrong ones.

Give me Big Brother Australia over UK any day…I won’t bang on about this quite as much though, don’t worry. This is the 3rd series of the Australian version I have seen (I also uploaded the whole thing to youtube, yup…the whole thing…unfortunately at about the mid way stage I became involved in an ‘International incident’ which was quite hairy :glasses: Take a read of what happened here if you so wish.) and I do have to say, not the best…but still thoroughly enjoyable. Unfortunately Big Brother Australia suffers from the same problem the UK does, a stupid bloody voting public who, despite pleas from the hosts to ‘Vote for the house you want to watch, not the one you want to live in’ – always vote out the people with an ounce of personality and life in them, meaning come mid series you are usually left with a bunch of dull as all hell nicey nicey people (Blandrew – worst Aus HM ever? I think so) and they have to throw in some crazy bastard intruders to liven things up. Bodie remained one of my favourites throughout the series despite being kicked out at the 2nd eviction, crazy TJ was a hoot and Emma was probably my favourite overall this year. When it got down to the final 2 I was very pleased with both, one a lovely bubbly happy chick, the other a camp as a row of tents, funny and lovely young guy…it was very reminiscent of the Big Brother UK 2 final, which saw a similar universally loved pair of Helen and Brian face off. In the end Aleica won it, by a very small margin, and that made me happy. Just a shame the final was such a disaster.

And now (Yes, she’s still talking about Big Brother!) Big Brother USA 8. I lost my favourite on Thursday, the wonderful unflappable (errr…well until last week she was unflappable) Jen, the girl who always had a smile on her face, even when ‘Evil Dick’ poured a glass of iced tea right over her head, when she rightfully called his ‘I’m so morally superior to you, Jen’ daughter on the fact she’s actually just a little princess slut. Amber drives me crazy with the crying, has one person ever cried so much on national TV before? Her and Jameka drive me crazy with their God bothering also, they seem to think the chap has nothing better to do than help them win food competitions! I really liked Eric up until the last episode, I thought he had done really well with the America’s Player thing and was a nice, funny guy…but the way in which he treated Jen on her leaving (and then we saw his butter wouldn’t melt, suck suck leaving message)…yup…now I see why everyone else thought he was a smug, slimy, sleazeball
Dick and Daniele…well don’t even get me started on these pair of degenerates, I enjoy a good game player as much as the next person…so in the early stages really enjoyed Dick’s style, but he long since over stepped the mark when he poured the Ice Tea over Jen, and the scenes in which he was blowing smoke in her face and then burning her with his cigarette were probably the most unpleasant Reality TV scenes I have ever watched (and this is coming from someone who saw Kinga stick a wine bottle up her lady garden!), it made me sick that no one stepped in. Makes you wonder how far someone would have to go on the USA version, before Big Brother/the Police had to step in, I ain’t easily shocked…but that shocked me. Then on to his ‘lovely’ daughter Skeletor…erm…I mean…Daniele, Daniele’s poor boyfriend…that’s all I can say, like it’s not bad enough to watch her getting close to another guy in the house…she & the producers rub it in at every available opportunity. Having a gooey letter from him in her HOH room? Him going as her loved one to the ‘power of 10′ thing? Pathetic, show some bloody respect woman. I just hate everything about Daniele, from the fact she looks like she’s about to die from malnutrition, to the fact she pretends to hate her dad but then smirks and laughs and loves it when he fights her battles for her, from the fact she thinks she’s a good strategic player but then has to backdoor someone – the ultimate act of cowardice in this game, to the fact she has the whiiiiinnnnneist voice ever ‘Ooooh daaaad this sssuuuuucks, there’s no ooooone leeeeft in thiis hoooooooooooooooooooouuuuuussssseeeeeeee Iiiiiii likeeeeeeee waaah waaaaaaah waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah’. I think out of the ones left, Jessica is the only one I really like…and Zach is the only one who’s game I respect.

Wow, I really didn’t expect to be on hiatus as long as I have been, over 2 months, I bet you’ve all forgotten about me and moved on, haven’t you? I was hoping to make a triumphant return with an awesome new layout but unfortunately I have been having trouble with it & after several days of being ready to come back I decided ‘what the heck, I’ll just have to put up a new layout later’.

I have checked my accounts and they are right, they didn’t take the payment for a few months…but it was entirely their fault so I don’t see why, months later and when I have long since migrated away from their evil clutches, they get to just tell me they are taking it from me. Bastards.

Oooooh, exciting times people…Lost season 3 started :jump:
I haven’t watched it yet, I probably won’t do until the weekend…but I am very excited about it. I loved Season 1, was obsessed with it…Season 2 kinda lost (boom boom) the plot for me, I didn’t like where it was heading and it took me a while to get my head around and accept some things (such as there being about 1 million people on the island) but by the last 4 or 5 episodes I was back to loving it and I think the Season 2 finale was better than the Season 1 finale. Can’t wait to find out what happens in Season 3.

While I am on the subject of TV, I love this time of year…so many great TV shows on…Lost, The Amazing Race, Next Top Model, The Biggest Loser and my official new favourite…Survivor. Yeah that’s right, Survivor has now taken over as my favourite Reality TV show…Big Brother has been knocked off it’s perch after 7 years! I didn’t enjoy BB6UK much, they gave us so many vile people it was impossible to like anyone, I thought…’Well at least BB7 can’t be any worse’ – How wrong was I? BB7UK was beyond crap, there was only 2 likable people in there, one they portrayed as dull as dish water even though she wasn’t (Imogen) and one they tried to make into some Machiavellian villain even though she wasn’t (Aisleyne). Everything about BB7UK was contrived, forced and false. The twists were lame, stupid and annoying. The tasks were unimaginative, cheap and tacky (with the exception of the Prison/Best Friend task). And the winner…’Perfect Pete’…worst.housemate.ever. I’ll never understand how or why he won and was favourite to do so since Day 1. By the time BB7UK finished it’s 13 week run I was just glad it was over.
Now add to that the fact that BB6AUS was equally as unimpressive, there were some nice people to like in there which was refreshing…but bless em, they had about 2 personalities to share between 20. Anyone with a bit of something to them got voted off in the early stages, Anna, Dino, Michael etc and the totally disappointing BB7USA where my favourites Kaysar and Janelle played terrible games, Janelle especially sucked…her only smart move was voting out Will, though that left us with the vomit inducing Erika/Boogie final (I forgive you though Janie, I’m still your number 1 fan). Did any of the All-Stars cast not get backdoored? Every week was predictable because we as viewers knew who was going (usually, whoever Will and his Sock Puppet said was going) and they weren’t given a chance to save themselves…if it had been a regular season it’d have been mediocre, but because it was meant to be All-Stars it was dismal.

So yeah, Big Brother is no longer my favourite…Survivor is king, 13 seasons in (+ 2 UK version, + 3 Aus Versions) and it’s still fresh, fun and thoroughly entertaining. I really enjoyed them dividing the initial tribes by race, controversial but interesting. I loved crazy Billy falling in love with Candice. I love Jeff. I love that Yul has the Immunity Idol etc and we are only 3 episodes in

Also loving the new Season of The Amazing Race, it’s back to it’s former glory since the disaster that was ‘The season we don’t mention’ There’s the teams you just have to hate and the teams you just have to love, then there’s the surprise teams you thought you’d hate but end up loving (The Coalminer and his wife spring to mind), the fun, the drama, the Philiminations :throb:
Next top Model is rocking my socks, Britain’s NTM finished a few weeks ago and that was a good series, though the overall winner was disappointing…crybaby whingebag Lianna who was a carbon copy of ANTM Cycle 2s winner Yoanna. ANTM fans will get a kick out of this, on the final photoshoot Lianna felt it wasn’t going well so broke down and cried and whinged infront of the photography, at judging it worked in her favour because it ‘Showed real passion’ – can you image, Tyra would be turning in her grave (were she dead). The girl who came 2nd was the ‘true’ winner of the show, as she was far more likable and will easily get the most commercial work from this (even if it is only on the Lad’s Mag scene). America’s Next Top Model is also rocking my socks so far, though I have only seen the first 2 episodes…that Monique biatch is crazy :dizzy: The only thing I don’t like about ANTM is the same thing I dislike about it every Cycle…bloody me me me me me me Tyra Banks, I can’t stand that egomaniac. I noticed they changed the title song and it sucked, so I mentioned it somewhere and was informed that it’s Trya singing it…I should have guessed.
I’ve only seen the first episode of The Biggest Loser so far, and I haven’t seen the start of Smallvillie Season 6 but I am excited about both!

Alright, I think I have gone on about RTV long enough….though I could go on about it all day every day, I’ll not bore you further.

I really really heart my new mobile phone, got it unlocked on Tuesday so it’s in full use now. I have Mario as my ringtone…Fuuuuuuun, I keep ringing myself just so I can hear it! I also downloaded a bunch of animated wallpapers which are awesome, I am so easily amused
The only real downside so far is the Camera, it’s not as good as the one on my old Razr…I’d got so used to being able to use that as a digital camera so it’s annoying. I mean it can take good pictures, I have got some that are pretty decent….but I guess it depends on lighting and whatnot because I also have some that are really, really terrible.

Also, and this is really annoying…the photos automatically save as photo001, photo002, photo003 etc etc, but then if you delete photo002…the next picture you take doesn’t save as picture004, it saves as picture002….so….I take pictures, transfer them to my computer, delete them off my phone (except if there’s any I need to keep on my phone for whatever reason), you take a bunch more pictures, then when you come to transfer these to your computer you can’t because the file names already exist…so you have to create a new folder to transfer them to, now you’ve forgotten what the file names of the ones you already have on the computer are, so you just download em all again….then you have to go through them all on the computer to delete the doubles and rename them all so you can put them in the main folder etc etc It’s really a pain in the arse, they should just have the photo number go up 1 each time ragardless of if any have been deleted, or like with most phones have them save as the date and time etc. Grr.

1. People who say they ‘Could care less’, well if you could care less hunny that means whatever it is someone just said/did to you affected you in some way. If you tell them the correct expression of ‘Couldn’t care less’ that means whatever they said/did already affects you as little as is humanly possible, aka not at all.
2. Princess Nikki. Why, as a nation do we reward these Big Brother morons for being morons? Jade Goody, Chantelle Houghton and now Nikki Grahame. Being thick shouldn’t be cute and funny, and throwing tantrums like a 4 year old is not a positive trait. People would be better teaching these morons basic social skills than putting their actions in TV shows for us to gawp at.

4. The fact I cannot get passed level 1 of Samorost 2, not because I suck but because it will not load.

Dreamhost.coms overly complicated Control Panel, I just want to host someone for fucks sake…set up the ftp, set up the user, make it a fully hosted subdirectory, remap the paths etc etc I am 3 weeks into working out how to do it and I am still stuck on the Making it a fully hosted subdirectory part!
