What’s great about them being so cheap is that you can buy more – I have several pairs to suit my various moods, what I am wearing or even the season. With valentines day just around the corner now I am thinking of getting some nice Valentine’s Day glasses to add to my collection. I don’t think I will go for any thing too obvious like a heart or flower pattern, but something in pink maybe, despite it being my favourite colour for some reason I don’t already own any pink glasses.

I may even ask my other half to purchase them for me as a gift for valentines day, I’d always rather have something that will last rather than the traditional gifts such as chocolate and flowers.

I wore them until I was about 20 when I was told I didn’t need them any more as I’d basically given up using my ‘bad’ eye so they were doing nothing for me- that made me sad. I had grown so used to wearing them that it took me a long time to get used to life without.

I often thought about just getting some fashion glasses but even those are still expensive – or that’s what I thought until a few months ago when I came across a site that sells them for as little as $8, now that’s what I call cheap eyeglasses. I first came across the site when I was reading “Living Large in Lean Times” by Clark Howard I snapped up a pair of slinky little black ones with plain lenses and they are great, just as good quality as any I’ve paid £100s for in the passed – they’ve hardly been off my face since I got them

I really hope he’ll be trained by Christmas as we are having guests and no one wants to be sat around opening pressies and eating turkey only to see and smell a puppy doing his business nearby.

I can’t believe Christmas is already less than two months away, I have already bought a few Christmas Gifts for people and usually I refuse to even start looking until December 1st.

The reason I am now blogging about Zenni again is because their website has had a major overhaul and looks so much more sopishticated, professional and easy to navigate than before. Plus it has lots of great new features – including a really neat ‘try on’ section where you can upload a photo of your face and see what you’d actually look like wearing any of the 100s of pairs of glasses available on the site. Even if you are not in the market to buy new glasses right now it’s still a lot of fun and could give you a good idea of what sort of frames suit you so when the time comes that you need a new pair you’ll know what to look out for

These days of course you can get money for old phones via various sites such as sellmymobile.com – the premise is pretty simple, you just visit their site and select the phone you’d like to get rid of and it will instantly let you know how much they are willing to pay for it, if you agree with the price send it off in the prepaid envelope they send you and then just sit back and wait for the money to appear in your account. As an added bonus a lot of these types of sites appear on cashback sites where you can get an additional few pounds just for using them.

I’ve sent a few phones to these types of sites but they don’t pay much for the sort of ancient phone I have – I think they offered about £1.50 for my ancient samsung E350 – so it’s best to send more current and desired phones to them as you’ll get a much better price. Aside from the money aspect I also feel a lot better sending older phones in even if you don’t get much for them as I know how toxic to the environment phones that are just thrown away can be.

It’s definitely easier than the hassle of trying to flog them on ebay – by the time they’ve had all their fees and you’ve taken the time to make sure you’ve dodged the many mobile phone scammers on ebay it can be a real hassle to sell them that way.

After first working out that a Celestron PowerSeeker is one of the fancy pants telescopes available on the market and realising it is way out of my price range for him (I usually spend about £10 on him because he’s such a pain to buy for!!) I told my mum who probably will get it for him and she is now trying to work him down to a beginner dobsonian telescope instead.

I still have no idea why he has a sudden interest in telescopes though and I have been too afraid to ask

One of the up sides of losing weight is that I always have to buy new clothes

I do love shopping and am always on the lookout for bargain ladieswear to get my sticky paws on, so it’s not the shopping I object to, it’s the fact I will buy something new that I love and then only get the chance to wear it a few times before it doesn’t fit any more. I have all but given up buying ‘going out’ clothes because I probably only go out where I have to wear something nice and pretty once every 3 months so the gorgeous dresses I buy end up not even getting worn!

I need to buy a swimming costume for the first time in…erm…well probably 15 years, because I am going on holiday in August and I plan to start going swimming regularly when I move away – there are some right now that look perfect in the Summer Shop for Holidays on Damart.co.uk and actually there are loads on the highstreet as well because it is summer holiday season.

But I can’t buy one now because it won’t fit come August – yet come August when I do want to buy one everyone will have stopped selling them for the year!

Basically, they need to invent clothes that you can shrink as you lose weight.

Gav and I are finally biting the bullet and moving in together, something we’ve wanted to do for a long time (we’ve been together 7 years next month!) but simply couldn’t afford to do until now.

Aside from all the obvious reasons this is super exciting, I think I am most looking forward to buying bedroom furniture…and living room furniture…and kitchen appliances…and…and…and….everything else we are going to need. I’ve been looking forward to getting my first place that needs kitting out from head to toe since I was about 14 years old – I had dreams of becoming an interior designer as a teenager and it’s taken 16 years but I finally get to act it out

Although we won’t be moving for at least another three months I already have a bookmarks folder full of links to various sites that sell living room furniture and everything else we will need at bargain prices. We’ll still be on a tight budget, it’s not like we’ve won the lottery – so planning in advance and keeping our eyes out for killer deals is essential.

Bargain shopping combined with interior design combined with finally flying the nest – could this get any better?

I am sure there’s not a woman on the planet who wants to turn 30. And since I turned 30 I am convinced I’ve got old over night. I see things now that probably aren’t really there – like looser skin, wrinkles on my forehead, grey hairs etc.

Also every time I get an ache or pain I blame my age. When I get into bed at night I moan and groan in pleasure like I am 100 because I get to rest my aching and tired bones. What I would really love is one of the Memory foam mattresses some of my friends had, I have heard about memory foam mattresses before of course but having never used one I didn’t really understand the appeal or why someone would pay extra for one – that all changed after I stayed over at my friends recently, my word those things are divine!

Unfortunately a full memory foam mattress isn’t on the cards right now as we have no spare pennies to afford such luxuries. But you can apparently get mattress toppers which are thinner (and cheaper) versions that sit on top of your existing mattress and offer a similar effect.

Mattress topper shopping here we come – these old bones of mine will be very grateful

I am not going to make excuses as to why I have not blogged, it’s just because I suck and have abandoned this domain. I am also not going to make promises that I will blog every single day from now on like a good little girl – because I wont.

So am I blogging now because I have earth shattering news? Nope. Same old, same old.
