Gav and I are off to Chessington World of Adventures tomorrow – it's a huge theme park with loads of rides, a zoo and a sea life center. I can't even tell you how excited I am to see the sharks and 'fat and round' pigs – they're actually called that! There's also a concert at the night featuring my beloved Jedward and Alexandra Burke – how much is all this costing us?

I hope every one had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. Mine was pretty smashing – I got to spend the whole thing with my boy for the first year ever, he usually goes out drinking on Christmas Eve and I don’t see him until he’s sobered up the next day at any point between 2pm – 10pm! This year he decided to stay home and play with me instead, aww.

We spent most of our time doing a Simpsons jigsaw that I bought him, we’re so rock n roll.

New Years Eve was a bit of a washout, he had to work late and I didn’t feel like going out getting wasted with my friends so I just stayed home on my own – but that’s OK, I am not that into NYE – people try to hug you and stuff *shudder*.

In online land…Page Rank update a few days ago and I lost rank on most of my other blogs, but I got it back here and on RealityTVFan.org – my PRs were removed over 2 years ago now when google first started hitting people who did paid posting (I never did it here on Swaymyway.com but it got spanked by association!). It feels strange, I had long since given up any hope they’d give it me back.

I am also spending today working on a new site about TV, though I am not 100% sure what I am doing with it yet – I had the option to buy an .eu for 12p so of course I had to snap it up.

Over all, a bit of a disaster!

Still, I always like fireworks…enjoy the pretty pretty pictures! These were taken before it really started to pour down with rain, as I didn’t want my camera to get wet!

So, hellloooooo…I am back from Wales, and I had a fully lovely time.

It was sunny and hot the first few days and Gav and I both got sunburnt, ooops – I don’t think either of us are used to being out in the sun like we were, we’re both pretty anti heat. We went on a boat trip and saw lots of seals, dolphins*, birds and caverns and the like, we had ice cream and fish and chips, we sat on the beach, got attacked by evil beastly seagulls, had a paddle in the sea, I got some lovely earrings and a bowl, the place we stayed was basic but nice and clean**, we were in a great location – 10 seconds straight forward to the town centre, 30 seconds left to the harbour and south beach and 30 seconds right to the north beach and promenade, we watched a Welsh male choir, we drank in a pub that was a boat and there was the most wonderful mirror in the flat that made me look about a foot taller and a stone thinner – I wanted to steal it so much. I partook in my very first alcoholic beverage for over a year and a half, a pint and a half of cider and black…I didn’t think it had made me drunk, I was expecting to feel plastered…yet when we got back to the flat I munched on some toast and then passed out fully clothed, so maybe I was a little drunk hehe. Can’t wait to go back.

As you may have seen me mention, I went shopping – I had been looking forward to going for ages because I seriously need some new clothes, trousers especially, having lost 3 and a half stone over the last year or so I am sure you can imagine…and we are going on holiday in 2 weeks so I wanted some stuff for that…comfy shoes, ‘crocs’, some nice going outty tops, some new gym clothes, some jeans, some combats and any thing else that took my fancy…went out with a big wad of cash and a plan to spend it.

I don’t know what happened, but I came back with an anniversary card for Gavin (5 years together on June 6th), a 30th birthday card for my brother and a fathers day card for my dad, one pair of crop joggers (in brown and pink, £3 in the sale) and 1 pair of bootcut jeans (light blue, £7 in sale). We were shopping for 4 hours and I feel like we only went in about 4 shops, in fact we did only go in about 4 shops…MK One, New Look, Jonathan James and Peacocks…MK One depressed me because the clothes I tried on in my new size didn’t fit – I started freaking out thinking how can that be and I almost went home there and then – then we went in New Look and thankfully their sizes are much more realistic, tried on about 6 pairs of jeans and several combats but none of them were working for me – I think I have lost a disproportionate amount of weight off my bum or something, because they would fit me in the waist but be hanging off my bum/thighs – it makes sense because my main exercise method is the elliptical, but it’s annoying – I am gonna have to look into switching it up. Then we went into Jonathan James (shoe shop) and they had some great black and pink sketchers trainers that would have been ideal for comfy walkingness, and only £10.99, but they only had 1 size 5 and the back of it was all bashed in and uncomfortable I also tried on some of the cheap crocs, but even the size 3s were ginormous on me – I tried on some kids ones instead and they fit much better, so I was going to buy those but realised that they were broken also – good shop, not. Thhheeeeen finally, we headed to Peacocks – this was the main shop I wanted to go in and I knew I’d be able to get some stuff there, so wasn’t happy to realise it was 5.10 (shops shut at 5.30) – had to literally dive in, pick up a load of jeans from the racks and dive into the changing rooms, rushed through trying them all on and thought the one pair of jeans was OK and decided to go for them…there’s nothing special about em, just bog standard jeans that make my bum look good, but I have not tried them on again or anything yet…bet I find something I don’t like about them…the crop joggers were something I just saw on the sale rack as walking to the checkout, but those were a great spot…I might even wear them for normal, not just gyming! I feel like if I had had more time in Peacocks I could have got plenty of stuff.

So, basically…after that long and I am sure uninteresting post….shopping trip was a bit of a disaster and I still don’t have any thing to wear. Gah.

So in other news, Charlie Bartlett – chuffing awesome film. Gav and I went to see it on Tuesday night thanks to Showcase Insider and I have fallen seriously in love with it.

No big deal? People love movies all the time? right?

No, not me. In fact it is very rare that I fall for a film – I am extremely hard to please and find myself indifferent to most I see. Out of every 10 films I see I’d say my ratio is 20% hate, 70% indifferent and 10% like. We went to see ‘Forgetting Sarah Marshall’ the week before, a film that everyone in the country is raving about, I thought it was meh. The last film I saw that I like was The Simpsons Movie, the last film I saw that I fell in love with to the extent I have Charlie Bartlett – Drop Dead Fred – a film that came out in 1991, hah.

People ask me, what sort of films do you enjoy then? What was it about that film you didn’t enjoy? Didn’t you find that bit hilarious though? And the thing is I don’t know, because I am not a film connaisseur in any way, I don’t do critiques – most of the time I can’t explain why I do like something, or why I don’t, I just watch something and I either enjoy it or I don’t.

But I actually do see somewhat of a correlation between Charlie Bartlett and Drop Dead Fred, both are ‘Quirky comedies’ I think…so on that basis, any one got any film recommendations for me?

and finally, go see Charlie Bartlett already – but remember he’s my new best friend, not yours.

Here’s the thing though, I am glad that didn’t work out…because yesterday I booked a 4 day holiday to Tenby for less money! I used to go to Tenby (it’s in South Wales) when I was a teenager with my family and a friend so I have a lot of happy memories. I always wanted to go back there as an adult but Gav was never up for it because it’s so far away compared to the sorts of places we usually go (about a 5 hour drive) – I am not sure why he agreed to it this time but I am not complaining. We are staying in our own little self catering flat, which is infinitely preferable to me than a Haven holiday park! When I say little, I mean little though..the place doesn’t even have a bedroom, just a drop down bed hehe. But it’s in a great location overlooking the main beach and harbor and a 30 second walk to the center of town, and it has all the basic amenities so I am sure it’ll be awesome

To make sure there wasn’t going to be any catch or hidden charges, I read the terms and conditions several times – only on Superior or Superior plus vans, OK. Only for 4 day trips that are Mon – Thurs, OK. Only between certain dates and excluding any bank holidays, OK – yup that all seems fine. So I head to the Haven site to check the prices – hurrah they have the dates we want available for £169 – now maths was never my strong area, but even I can work out that £169 with 50% off is about £85…right..right….riiiight?

So we login to the Walkers site and select the holiday, say yes we are sure, use our points on this…it says OK redirecting you to the Haven site now so you can get that baby booked – we refind it there, select our date, enter all our details, get to the payment part and…

…errrrrr? £169 – £85 = £164?? Wait accommodation £328.50? £164.50 saving? What?

I went through the process twice more and had Gav do it once just to make sure we’d done every thing right, we had….and after much head scratching I spotted something…two words….’Brochure Price’. No where on the walkers site does it say that the 50% is off brochure price and no where on the Haven site does it say anything about the web prices not being the same as the brochure prices, not until after you have committed to spending your points and half booked the holiday do you see those two little words, brochure price. So even though you have to book online, and no where on the Haven site does it tell you anything about the brochure price being twice as much, that’s what you get your 50% off of…a whopping saving of £5 off what you would otherwise have to pay without Brit Trips. Err, pass thanks.

Complete scam and rip off imho, they probably expect after spending so long looking it all up and deciding that’s where you want to go, most people will think ‘Stuff it’ and book any way, as Gav wanted to, well no chance – it’s misleading and they aren’t getting a penny of my money. I’d send an email of complaint if I thought it’d achieve any thing, but they blatantly already know it’s misleading. Bastards.

In fact the whole day in general was a bit of a disaster area. As well as the holiday thing not working out, I got my girly time of the month and was suffering badly with it, we decided to go to the cinema after the holiday thing – otherwise we’d have just stayed home and been all miserable – but that means we had to pay for it, paying for the cinema is a foreign concept to us now we are so used to going to the free screenings and on the way there we almost got into a really bad car crash…thanks in part to a stupid twat of a woman clearly not knowing where she was going who switched lanes at the last second, stalled and then didn’t go when the green light said go bitch, go and thanks in part to this turning Gav into a road rageish twat who pulled out in front of another car in order to go past her – it missed us by approximately 0.00003 of a second.

If I’d died, I would have had to share my haunting time equally between both twat woman and twat Gav!

In other news, I think I am becoming a little obsessed with Twitter, I sort of didn’t understand it for a long time..but now I am getting the hang of things it’s a lot of fun (though I haven’t ventured into learning what ‘tweets’ are yet) and there’s actually a way to make money using it – there are several companies and the like on there that hold little contests, I won $30 last week with no effort! I need more people to follow and who are following me, so please go ahead and add me if you are on there and I will return the favour. I just wish that I could get Twitter mobile working, so that I can send updates when I am not at the computer, but each time I try to text them the code at the number they give…it just gives me an error and won’t send. Boo. I wonder if it’s meant for US carriers only, there doesn’t seem to be much information about that.
You might have seen me mention on Twitter Thursday that I was trying to beat my highest ever hit day on RealityTVFan.org but coming up 20 short, argh, but then I absolutely creamed it yesterday…beat it by over 250, woo.

Annnd finally, I have been working on a new blog the last week or so….it’s on Blogspot, which makes me feel a little dirty…I can’t remember the last time I had a site that wasn’t hosted by myself – but it’s meant to be a content blog that doesn’t need all the fancyness and I just don’t want any more bloody domains, I have too many of them as it is.
