Here’s something that’s not fun - dropping a whole loaf of frozen thick sliced bread on your foot - can you say ouch?
Here’s what else is not fun - every one you know owning a Wii, having recently bought the newly released Mario Kart and all taking part in battles with each other online, when you don’t have one. Boo, BOO at you my Mario Kart owning friends.
Here’s what is fun though, Gav and I are going away for a long weekend for our 5 year anniversary at the start of June, yay. Due to issues and circumstances last year, I haven’t been away at all, anywhere, not even for 1 day, since November 2007…and that was only 2 shitting nights in shitty Blackpool, when I had a migraine. The problem is we have no where to go, aside from the fact we aren’t made of money, we have to go on certain dates as it’s the only time Gav can get off work, and we want to be there for the 6th and neither of us have been anywhere other than Skegness and Blackpool in several years and both of those are off the menu. So please, someone suggest a nice place to go…i’ve asked several places and still not come up with anything.
Needs to be UK, needs to be either North Wales, North West coast or Yorkshire/North East coast. I know some of you guys will have some great recommendations for me ![]()

Horaayy..there are 3 comment(s) for me so far ;)
Ooh yeah, that must have hurt… =(
LOL, I don’t have a Wii either! So don’t feel bad!!
*hugs* Good luck finding a place to go to!! I don’t live in the UK, so I don’t have any recommendations… Hehe… But yes, I know what you mean about not going anywhere, though!
Scarborough or York are both nice, especially in June. York for by the river drinking anyone? And Scarborough is only 30mins away from York for a seaside day trip. Mind you you are from Yorkshire so it might not feel like a holiday.
There are loads of places in North Wales to go - I can’t even recommend one ‘cus I went to so many when I was young and they’ve all blurred into one in my head!!
Carly’s last blog post..Wooden Backgrounds
One place our family loves to go for short breaks is the Talacre/Prestatyn/Rhyl area of North Wales. On the way there, if you’re coming from the east, there’s a big market on Sundays (well marked), which is really fun. Talacre is tiny and has a small beach - if you could get somewhere near there, it’s pretty and has an amazing bakery. Plus, Rhyl and Prestatyn are easy access by bus, even. Prestatyn has lots of quirky shops and is fun to walk around. Rhyl is like a mini Blackpool without the rides, but slightly less tacky and with a ton of chainstore shops. Also, there is an amazing arcade that works in old money with really retro machines; you can have your normal £ exchanged there for shillings etc. to play. If you’re taking the car, it’s not that far along the coast west to the Menai Straits, where you might see dolphins if you’re lucky. It’s really beautiful as well.
