Well, I had decided to go ahead with my plans for Swaymyway.com but I have already fallen at the first hurdle. I don’t know how to back up my posts, never mind how to restore them when I do the fresh install!! I was sure that there was a way within the Wordpress admin panel to export your posts, and import them back - but apparently not. I can’t find it at least :g:
I know how to backup the entire database via PHPMyAdmin, but I don’t need the whole database…just the posts and comments, I think I know how to export the tables I need from a database then drop them on the new install, but that suddenly sounds a whooooole lot scarier and viable to things going wrong.
Does any one happen to know how I can easily back up my posts? Does any one know of a tutorial? Help would be greatly appreciated ![]()

Horaayy..there are 4 comment(s) for me so far ;)
There *is* an option - however it may be that you have an old version of Wordpress installed that does not have this feature built in. If it does, however…
Go to “Manage” in the admin panel. Once it’s loaded, on the sub-navigation there should be the option to “Export”. Click it and the option to export your Wordpress database into an XML file will come up, select it and the XML file should download to your computer.
Delete Wordpress or whatever and complete your fresh install or whatever you want to do. When you have your new Wordpress install up and running, go to “Manage” again but this time choose the option “Import”. Browse for the XML file on your computer and away you go!
Maybe you were just looking in the wrong place… email me if you need any help though!
It’s been a while since I commented here, jeez. Nice to see you’re still around
You can try to use https://www.blogbackuponline.com/techrigy/ I just came across this website myself today.
Thanks guys, I got it now. I DIDN’T have the import/export thing, so I updated first, now I am good to go, hurrah.
