So, here’s what I am thinking.

Don’t freak out (like any of you would haha), I don’t mean really killing it off or properly. But I am thinking of basically gutting it and starting again. Last week I installed wordpress elsewhere and it was obviously the latest version, I discovered these widgets that I have seen every one talking about - awesome - drag n drop and you are done pretty much. In total it took me about 20 minutes to install, get up a template and get what I wanted in the sidebars. God only knows what archaic version of wordpress I am using, but it has got to the stage where hardly any plugins even work on it and it takes me hours to change layouts, even if I am using a pre made template. Of course I am sure I could just upgrade, rather than have to start a fresh, but it’s clear I have lost interest in this site recently - and the amount of traffic, comments and link backs etc that I get strongly reflects that. The blog I set up last week is already getting more traffic haha. So if I start from scratch, it might make it feel like a whole new venture again and reignite my passion for Sway
I would of course keep my archive of posts, there seems no reason not to. I’d also keep some of my content, it’d all need to be moved from the individual .php pages it’s on now and slipped into a wordpress page - which is the only real disadvantage I see in this plan - I will be losing 1000s of backlinks. But I will also ditch a heck of a lot of the content, especially the stuff in the ‘visitor’ section, when was the last time that shit was cool? 2003? When was the last time I updated any of it or even read any of the formmail from it (confessions of a bad webmistress…)? 2005? The tutorials are mostly outdated, the about me stuff is all written from the perspective of a bitter single 22 year old and when I read some of it I cringe, it doesn’t sound like I am now at all.

I haven’t decided 100% yet, because I do keep coming up with plans for this site then not executing them - so I want to be sure and make sure I am motivated to do it. But I am 95% sure.

What do you all think? Great idea? Whatever makes you happy? Don’t care? Noooooooooooooo don’t do it?
