Christmas is coming, HURRAH. Honestly, I feel like it’s Christmas day tomorrow as it’s the first of December, and for the last 2 or 3 weeks I have been just waiting for it to arrive. I usually put a ban on anything Christmas related until the start of December, because I actually find it depressing how early Christmas comes around these days…it seems as soon as Halloween is over in the UK all the Christmas stuff starts up, there’s already been adverts on TV and special sections in supermarkets etc for a month…I feel it takes away the specialness, and come new year you are bored to tears of it.
However this year I some how managed to get a little carried away with it myself, I have already bought about half of all the gifts I need get for people - so 2 or 3 weeks ago I had a word with myself and put the ban back in place, so I have been counting down the days until December 1st when I can start Christmassifying everything again. I have loads of other items to buy for people, I am going to start using Christmas themed buttons to plug on Plugboards, I am going to use my Christmas avatar every where, I am going to switch to the Christmas theme on Sway Forum, I might even finally get around to making a new (Christmassy, of course) layout. I am going to put up all the Christmas decorations downstairs in a week or 2 (my parents won’t want them up too early. And I am going to put up my personal decorations (lights, garlands, tinsel, Santa troll) this weekend…my mum came home from work a few days ago with a lovely sparkly 3ft pink artificial tree for me, it was reduced and she gets a staff discount so it was only £2.80, I can’t wait to get that up :hyper:
I have like zero room in my bedroom though, so quite where it’s all going to go I am not sure.
How about you guys? Decorations already up? Christmas shopping already done? Waiting a while longer? Last minute kinda guy/gay? Excited? Or BBBAAAAAAH HUMBUG?

In others news my lovely Fiance took me out for a meal on Tuesday night, we only went to Wetherspoons - hardly high class dining, but it makes me happy. I’d actually feel pretty uncomfortable in a ‘proper’ restaurant I think, so not me. Writing that last sentence reminded me that, even after being engaged for a year and a half now, I am still not used to referring to Gavin as my Fiance, in fact I’d go as far as to say I don’t like referring to him as my Fiance and I can’t really explain why. I think it somehow sounds somewhat pretentious, which is ridiculous because it’s just a word for a stage in a relationship. Boyfriend I like, Other half I life, and when the time finally comes I will love calling him my Husband…but Fiance just doesn’t work for me. Does any one else feel like that, or see where I am coming from…or is it just me and my weird inner workings doing their weird little…things?
That is all xx

Horaayy..there are 7 comment(s) for me so far ;)
LOL oh dear i’m ashamed to admit that..i’m sooo excited for christmas & i dont know why! it always sends me to euphoria mode
xcept i havent been doing that much about it yet. CAN. NOT. wait for the 7th! (read: holidays!)
i always thought it sounded grande like, when you say it with styyyle: fee-yon-sayye. i dont like how it looks though! “Fiance” Finance!?
also. WHEN IS “THE TIME”!!! is it soooon? ;D haha here i am getting all excited for nuppence! love ya!
Lol, sorry, your post was kind of confusing as you were jumping back and forth between buying gifts and items for others and then updating your page to Christmas themes.
I love it when I’m able to shop for others weeeeeeeekkkkkssss in advance… because then I’m not so broke when boxing day comes around, but then again I don’t think I can enjoy shopping on boxing day this year.
What a lovely gesture your fiance did for you!! That’s so sweet! It’s nice to go out for dinner just the two of you sometimes
I love Christmas but I also hate it. I love buying presents for others but I hate being broke in January. I also hate working in retail at Christmas (I work at Best Buy… save me!), the customers are always so angry and always in a hurry and want a deal on everything. I am always nice to sales people, even at Christmas, so why can’t everyone do the same? It’s not like we’re out to get you when we don’t have something in stock. *shakes her head* And yet… even having worked 4 Christmas’s in retail, I still love what I like to call… Present Day!
Wow, easy sum question this time, thank god.
I have mixed feelings about it. The food I love, decorations pretty, but its the whole present thing I can’t be arsed with…giving or receiving…. I’m aware that xmas dinner is just like sunday dinner, but I still love it more on xmas day, lol.
I don’t even like callin James my boyfriend … he is just my James, hehe.
I find the fact that christmas things are sold as early as in october kinda weird. They do that in Sweden aswell and I’m already sick of all christmas commercials on tv.
I’m not fond of christmas decorations, at least not in my apartment so I haven’t put up any yet. Christmas decorations are wonderful but they just make my apartment look messy and horrible. The only thing I really love is my tiny plastic christmas tree but I won’t be able to put up that one this year because I have a kitten with a taste for destruction.
I don’t think fiance is a weird word. But english isn’t my mother tongue so it’s not exactly a word I use so I dunno.
How nice to be taken out for dinner. I wish someone did that for me.
Hm, well I feel like Christmas is coming up really fast. Just yesterday I realized, ‘Wow, it’s December–that means that a month from now it’s going to be 2008′.
It’s a good idea to take up Christmas shopping early. Have a good time ‘Christmassifying’!
Yeah I’m excited for Christmas too! The last couple years, I really wasn’t because I wasn’t sure if it was really a “religious” holiday. But this year, I’m more excited about not being politically correct and saying MERRY CHRISTMAS instead of “happy holiday”. So….. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU!!
