Happy Bonfire night UKers :fiery: We went to a big display on Saturday and it was aweeesoooommmeee, I suppose that’s the difference between going to a pub that just happens to be having a firework display - like we normally would - and going to an actual firework display :firework: It was a bit of a pain getting there and back, since 10000 people were there we had to park in a car park a few miles away and then hop on a bus to the actual event (park & ride) - I was frigging terrified going, we were one of the first on the bus…then it started filling up and getting a bit jammed, it was an old bus so you could hear all the creaking and see the roof wobbling about as people were going up there, but more and more people kept getting on and I was already thinking, gosh that roof is gonna collapse in a minute. Eventually off we set and I thought phew - but then the driver stopped at another stop where about another 40 people were stood, I thought he’s just stopping to tell them we are full and they’ll have to wait for the next one, but no…on they came…the whole lot of em onto an already packed bus. I was convinced either the roof was going to collapse, the bus was going to topple over on a bend or I was going to die from the lack of oxygen. There’s no way that was either safe or legal! After the display heading back to the car park we were stood in a queue for 40 minutes waiting to get on a bus, I was nervous about another crushy bussy situation, and I had the most horrible chavesque woman stood behind me (+ a little kid that kept bumping into me) - some of the crap she was coming out with, I don’t think of myself as a snob at all, but I was left thinking…’Wow, thank God I am not like you!’.
Back to the actual display though, like I say it was awesome….it was even better than the one we went to in Blackpool (which cost us about 10 times as much!) which is meant to be one of the best the UK has to offer. The fireworks were exploding directly above our heads, they had ones that changed colour as they were going up, ones that you didn’t notice going up so when the explosion came it was a big surprise, they had ones that flashed, ones that looked like Christmas lights, ones that sounded like Star Wars and literally the whole of the sky above me was just full of pretty explosions! It only lasted about 15 - 20 minutes, but so totally worth it.
As predicted I didn’t get any pictures, I was going to take out my camera during to try get some snaps…but didn’t want to miss anything. Tried to get some last night from my bedroom window, as there was a few displays going on near me, but I couldn’t work out my dads camera lol it was on a 5 second delay or something - so got a few shots but nothing worth posting.

The Amazing Race 12 started last night, squee squee squee, it’s my second favouritest reality TV show evaaaaar. I haven’t watched it yet though, so please don’t post any spoilers in the comments
In other news, how crap has Despair.nu become? I made myself inactive in those few months I was on hiatus and then getting back into the swing of blogging, set myself as active again a week or so ago and have dutifully done all of my required commenting - what have I got in return?! ONE comment out of the 12 I should have received, One - have I just been really unlucky, or has the site really gone to the dogs? Does any one know of a better commenting rotation type thingy site? ![]()
I thought I had more to blog about than that, but I don’t, so I will bid you good day

Sounds like you had a great night. Firework displays seem pretty cool, too bad we don’t have any around here.
Yeah, Despair has definitely become pretty bad. Hopefully the site owners will change that soon
That bus ride sounds scary. I remember being on a bus like that once, only it wasn’t really packed and I was still scared lol. Fireworks are big fun.
Those sound like really cool displays. Like the StarWars one.
I love the site, btw.
NOT fair, not fair. I never got to see any fireworks. It’s my favorite night of the year. Someone is going to make this up to me for new year I tell thee.
I WANT FIREWORKS
wow fireworks o_O i must’ve been really an awesome display!
i love fireworks. XD
Oh boy! I wish we had a bonfire night thingy. That’s the thing about Canada. We’re boring people.
Wow, it sounds like you had an amazing time. I would get so claustrophobic if I had to get in a bus with that many people. Despair is up and running now.
