I am having the mother of all bad luck at the moment with online purchases/delivery…seriously, this is in the last few weeks alone.

* The case of the missing cheque: Someone sent me a cheque & I paid it in…a few days later there was no sign of it in my account, a few days later still no sign. So I messaged the person and asked if they knew where it was, a few days pass still no sign of the cheque, no response from the person. So I try and chase it up with the bank, find out what happened to it and eventually..about a week later get a letter from them telling me I need to give them more details. By this point I have decided the person in question was just trying to scam me or something, since they disappeared as well as the cheque so didn’t bother to follow up. Now, the person who sent the cheque has been in touch to say they have been in hospital & wanting to know what happened, so I have started chasing that again but no one seems to know what the heck happened to it.

* The case of the returned La Redoute order: I had ordered some stuff from La Redoute and used codes to get £10 off, making the items freeeeeeeeeeeeeee, woo. Now I have used these codes before and I know delivery from these guys are painfully slow with delivery, it usually takes about 2 weeks from the order date. So when it was about 1 week and a half after I had placed my order I started to get excited…yay free stuff coming soon…but every morning was a new disappointment when postie didn’t turn up with it. After 2 and a half weeks had passed and there was still no sign of it I was going to contact them about it (I hadn’t previously because I felt like a skank, complaining about slow delivery when I was getting like £30 worth of stuff for free), but there was an email in my inbox letting me know that “My order had been successfully returned” - huh?. I don’t know how it works in other countries but in the UK if someone tries to deliver something and they can’t, they leave a calling card so you know they have been/can go collect the item from the Sorting Office or arrange a redelivery. We had no such calling card which means that it didn’t even try and get delivered, my lazy bastard courier obviously either forgot or just couldn’t be bothered. I was going to complain and tell them to resend it, but decided to just re order as it’d be quicker…it’s now 1 and a half weeks later and there’s no sign of it yet, fingers crossed it will come this time.

* The case of the half order: I placed an order at Ledshoppe, 2 screen protectors and some cable tidies…the cable tidies arrived within a few days, but there was no sign of the screen protectors. I am sure Mr Postman has nicked them, because why would they send them seperately? all the way from Hong Kong, they are just small light items and could have easily fit in the same jiffy. It’s now over a week since my first part arrived and still no sign of the rest and no replies to emails.

* The case of the Max Media Player: This was posted over on a bargain site I post at as a Misprice (where a company screws up and lists something at the wrong price - was meant to be £129.99 but was listed at £29.99) so I snapped it up asap, normally I research and think about things for ages, especially when I plan to flog them on eBay for a profit, but I just jumped in and went for this one…£100 off, how could I go wrong? Well, soon after people started talking about it and I did do research, turns out it’s a pile of crap and it probably wasn’t a misprice, just them trying to get rid of stock they can’t sell. So I went to cancel the order, but it was showing as too late…order already picked. So then I was going to refuse delivery of it, but when it arrived it accidentally got accepted because I thought it was something else. By then I had been watching some on eBay and they were going around the £40 mark so I thought, oh it’ll be fine…I will just eBay at and at least get my money back. Opened it up and the box was all battered, all beat in at the corners and creased and shit & by this time I’d already put it on eBay but then had to go change the listing to state the condition (I was selling it as brand new, now I don’t feel I can) + since so many are up there now they have started going for less, so even brand spanking perfect new ones are only selling for £30 now…so yeah, not even gonna make my money back on that.

* The case of the uncancellable order: I placed an order a few months ago now at Play.com, for 3 games that I was trading in at CEX for a profit but only 2 were sent. The third one showed as ‘waiting for stock’ - so I waited, and waited and waited for about a month and then decided sod it & tried to cancel…only I couldn’t, when I would try on the website I would get an error message…I kept trying for a about a week thinking it was just a temp glitch and they would fix it soon. No luck, so I emailed the email address that showed on the error page (support@play.com), spent about 10 minutes writing the email only for it to bounce right back to me saying that the email address is ‘unmanned’ - I searched the site and found another email address, rewrote the email and sent…again it bounced right back to me, I asked on a forum if anyone knew how to contact them and was given 3 more email addresses and 2 phone numbers…all bounced or went unanswered…so it’s still there in my account, waiting stock.

* The case of the missed LH order: I missed a parcel that arrived on Tuesday this week, no big deal..they left a calling card as they are meant to *glares at La Redoute*. But reading it it says that because the parcel is ‘recorded delivery’ it will only stay at the sorting office for one week before being returned to sender…and unfortunately I can’t get to town until next Tuesday…so I went to royalmail.com/redelivery which is a new service that lets you arrange redelivery online, GREAT I thought…so I arranged to get it redelivered on Thursday…Thursday comes and goes and no sign of the bloody thing, postman delivered normal post but no parcel for me, I have contacted them to ask what happened but they have yet to respond & it says on the site they aim to respond within 7 days, which is fucking useless. So I just went to arrange another redelivery now and the earliest they can do it is…Tuesday, again with the fucking useless. So basically now I just have to hope it’s still there on Tuesday when I go collect it otherwise…yeah…and knowing my luck it’ll have been returned (it doesn’t help that it’s a…private…parcel).

* The case of the returned router / ebuyer part 1: As I mentioned in my previous post, the router I had ordered from ebuyer didn’t work so had to be sent back. The whole process was actually pretty fast, but I am still waiting for my refund & according to people on HUKD they have all had to spend ages chasing them for refunds.

* The case of the unchangeable order / ebuyer part 2: Let me first express, I actually hate ebuyer…I have ordered from them 3 times before and 1 of the orders went smoothly, the other 2 were gigantic pains in my arse & I said I would never order from them again. However at the moment they have a £10 off offer & I need a wireless network…so too good an opportunity to pass up.
So on Saturday night I placed an order at 7pm, the order was for a wireless router and dongle bundle and 2 mouse mats, at about 9pm my dad decided he wanted a usb 2 pci card as well, so I went to add it to the order but was unable to make any changes, I read all the FAQ and they said you can change an order right up until the day before it’s posted, so I contacted them & waited a few days for a response, when I got it it just said that an order cannot be changed after it’s passed a certain stage…the picking stage, which it was now showing as, but when I actually tried to change it days earlier and only hours after having placed the order it was only at stage 1 ‘order received’ - so I was mightily annoyed about that. While I was logged into my account I noticed the estimated dispatch date…now bare in mind, I went for the cheapest delivery option ‘Super Saver’ that takes ‘5 working days’ - but it was still £3.99…so let’s do the maths, 5 working days from Saturday the 28th…well day 1 is Monday the 30th, day 2 Tuesday 1st, day 3 Wednesday 2nd, day 3 Thursday 3rd, day 5 Friday 4th - today - hurrah. Except, not hurrah because the dispatch date is set as Thursday the 10th - that’s 8 working days, not 5! So not only is that annoying because it’s incredibly slow, it makes the fact that I am unable to change anything about my order all the more fucking stupid. I will never use ebuyer.com again after this, even if they offer £20 off a £21 spend!!

Ok, I think that’s it for now…maybe there was more…but this entry went on long enough. It was all really interesting in my head, but I realise now I have written it it’s actually incredibly dull and whiny :sly:

OMG! Those are a lot of stuff that you lost with the mail! That’s why I never buy anything online that are to be shipped internationaaly. I only buy on ebay.ph, that way, we could just meet and he gives me whatever I ordered and I give him the money. That method works so much for me or sometimes I also use courier services from DHL and LBC.

That’s bloody awful. Sounds as annoying as my brittish gas palava. Delivered a record amount of bills in one month. We payed loads. Tryed to ring up to ask why the delivered more. No luck. Told we have to pay them all again. What? £270 down the drain because of your error. No thank you.

More letters. Threatening to cut off the electricity & gas. Grr..!
