Well, the day has finally come…I only got my bloody MAC from Pipex :running:

Translation - Starlet is switching broadband providers!! I knew this day would finally come, I have been with Pipex since December 2003, and I have been unhappy with them since approx…hmm…December 2003, I have been trying to move away from them for a long long time, but one thing or another has always made it so I had to stay…a quick search of my blog entries confirms as much, see here, here and here for example.

I am very worried about moving though, ISPs in the UK are a whole different ball game to other countries…it’s very hard to find a good one and it’s made doubly hard for me as I am a heavy downloader, I think I have decided to go with UKFSN…it’s less than I am paying now, faster connection, 1 month contract so if anything goes wrong it will be easy to move away and a fair bandwidth usage amount, but this will be the first time in my life I have had a bandwidth limit…this scares the pants off me, so I am trying to download as much as I can right now (4 seasons of TAR and 3 of Survivor, about 40g worth :oneye:), milk Pipex while I still can…though that’s pretty bloody difficult when I am capped at 20kbs, slower than dial up :yes:

It’s also going to be an expensive month, the way Pipex works is that you have to pay for the month in advance, so I will essentially be paying for 2 lots of broadband in one month….couldn’t have come at a worse time because I am skint right now, I have been doing a lot of buying recently…just small things, £10 here, £20 there…but it soon adds up. In addition my Dreamhost bill is going to arrive soon, eeeps.

In other news, I’mmmmmmmmmmmmmm staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalking yooooooooooooooooooooooooooou. Ok perhaps not so much, but kinda….the one thing I don’t like about Dreamhost is, no awstats….I use extremetracker which is all yummy and good, but it’s not exactly mind blowing. Well a few weeks ago I finally found something more like awstats that is light and was simple to install called Slimstat. So I installed it here and at Plugboard.org and it’s Neaty McNeat (< -- not picked up from Greys anatomy btw, I don't watch that show...never have), I especially enjoy the 'paths' section for maximum stalkage.
