Twisted Memories
How come everytime you come around
You know, I think it’s officially safe to say that I am now a Firefox user, crazy…I have always been such a hardcore Internet Explorer fan. When Firefox first became widley used I was on a piece of crap old computer so Firefox ran like a piece of crap…when I got a better computer I decided to give it another go and it did run like it should, I used it for a few weeks and didn’t mind it so much…but then for some reason went back to IE and it was so comfy and lovely, like slipping on a pair of old slippers, plus this was at a time when the browser snobbery was at an all time high, and nothing bugs me more than when idiots think they are better than someone else just because of the browser (or OS etc) they use, so Firefox again was sent to the graveyard. I am not sure what’s made me stick with Firefox now, I started using it when I first had this computer repaired because IE was acting whack but I fixed the problem within a few days…I think it’s because I actually learned how to do certain things (like opening links in new windows by holding down shift…and I added a ‘new tab’ button to the toolbar (because previously I always had a hard time working out how to open a new tab, idiot I know.)) plus I have a few groovy plugins (like one that checks links, I just totally went over every page of Plugboard.org and fixed any dead links…I used it to clear up the ‘Resource links’ thread on the forum and plan on cleaning up here also). The only only only thing that’s stopping Firefox from being perfect though…I need a Spell Check Plugin!! I feel like I am just being a Durrr because there has to be one, there has to be, but I have searched numerous times and not found a decent one…I just want something like IEspell…I type into a form, I click on something on the toolbar, it checks my spelling. So please, hook me up with a good Firefox Spell check plugin and Firefox will be perfect for me.
Having said all that, I am certain as soon as Internet Explorer 7 comes out properly I will try it and fall straight back into it being my main browser again, heh.
Let’s see, what else.
I have been doing a lot of work ‘behind the scenes’ on my sites recently, it’s amazing how outdated things can become. I haven’t added any pictures to the Cam Archive since 2004, My Computer was still showing pictures of my old..old computer, the one I had before the one I had before this (huh?), the pictures of My Room were from like…2002, before Gav and I even started seeing each other! I first wrote the DIV tutorial back when I had only just learned them myself and the code is so shoddy it’s shocking, plus check out the Getting Hits page, it mentions signing Guestbooks…Guestbooks are so 3 years ago, who even has a Guestbook any more? And not a mention of Plugboards..plus that line at the bottom about going to InternetGossip.net…wow…that’s like forever ago that that site was the place to be, I must have written that page in 2001! Also, obviously a lot of my content was written back in the day when I didn’t capitalise my “I”’s and I didn’t use apostrophes at all.
So yeah, I have a lot of work to be getting on with
Before anyone asks, I don’t know what has happened to the forum, I didn’t break it I swear. I am hoping it’s just a temporary server issue and that by the time I log on tomorrow it will have fixed itself *fingers crossed*

Horaayy..there are 5 comment(s) for me so far ;)
Hey… I still have a guestbook… Heheheh…
Anyways… LOL about going over your pages and such! I did that probably like almost 2 years ago, and woah, did I ever change… LOL. And yep, those tutorials you wrote when you first learned HTML… I have a couple of those I need to go change… Hahahah…
If you think holding shift while you click a link is nifty, try clicking on the link with your scroll wheel (without shift) and see what happens
This extensions claims to check broken links AND has a spell checker:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2318/
and this one is just a spell checker:
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1022/
Also, IE7 has been released. I think it’s still a beta version, not sure what the hell “candidate 1″ means, but that’s what it’s called. But since Microsoft has it up for public release on their site, I assume it’s safe. I tried it and didn’t really like it… It seems too…crowded? Anyway, you can download it here:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.mspx
Good luck with updating all of your pages and I hope you found this info somewhat helpful =)
LOL yea i have a guestbook but who signs em..people just reads and comment on blogs and call it a day. Soon down the line..bloggin will get old too
Funny you’d pick the worst possible time to start liking firefox. Theres a somewhat large “scandal” as the nerds of the world say. Somthing about linux and the firefox logo. Oh well. (I personally don’t care).

Search for SpellBound - current version is 0.7.3.1 so it is not out of Beta yet, but it seems to work ok. You need to install the Mozilla SpellCheck Libraries and your chosen dictionary as well but it is all explained on the web page. The librraies and dictionar are common to Thunderbird (and maybe OpenOffice.org) as well
