Hurrah, I’m glad you all seem to like the new layout! In case you didn’t work it out yet the image top right changes every 24 hours, niftaaaaay huh?

I wish so badly that I could ‘work out’ how to sell on Ebay! I guess I must be pretty stupid because I never see anyone else complaining about it…but I’ve tried to sign up numerous times in the past but always given up half way through or chickened out of actually listing anything because it just confuses and intimidates the heck outta me!
I just saw the single most beautiful phone in the world…but it’s £200 which I obviously can’t afford to spend on something I just want however if I sold my current phone and my Nintendo DS (which I never use, waste of money that was) then that’d probably cover it! Plus I have so much other old/unused crap that I could probably afford an Ipod too! Does any one have an ‘Idiots guide to selling crap on Ebay’ or even better know of another place I can sell my stuff?

While I’m showing myself to be a bit slow…here’s another one, can any one tell me how trains work in the UK?
Not the science bit, what I mean is…well I haven’t been on a train in over 10 years and even then it was only short distances…so a few things I’m not sure on…

+ Who do I give my ticket to and when? Do I give it to someone before getting on the train, do I give it to someone when I get on the train?
+ What would I do with my suitcase? Do I give it to someone before I get on the train, do I put it somewhere myself before I get on the train, do I take it on the train with me and then give it someone, do I take it on the train then put it somewhere myself or do I take it on the train and just keep it with me?
+ How do I know when I’m at the right station? Do they announce it or am I expected to just look for the signs? If they announce it how long before the train gets to the station do they do that?

I’m looking forward to Bonfire night this year cos I’m spending it at Gav’s and he has taken the night off work so we can actually go out for it! It’s not a big holiday or anything but the last 2 years I really really wanted us to do something but we couldn’t for whatever reasons!! :fire: :fire:
It’ll be odd being at his for it though, from my window you can see for miles in loads of directions and there’s a bunch of places near by that have big firework displays that I normally get to watch from the comfort of my own bedroom! From Gav’s bedroom window I doubt I’ll even get to see one firework :duh:

OK that’s all, won’t be online til Friday now…when hopefully I will have a new coat (I really need to get one before I go to Gav’s, It is too cold to be walking around without one now!) I saw one I loved in Additions and it was only £19…but typically it was out of stock (as were several other things I wanted to order! rawr)

A little man (or woman) usually comes round and stamps it for you. Not all the time. But most of the time.

+ What would I do with my suitcase? Do I give it to someone before I get on the train, do I put it somewhere myself before I get on the train, do I take it on the train with me and then give it someone, do I take it on the train then put it somewhere myself or do I take it on the train and just keep it with me?

Depending on how big it is, and whether you want to leave it, you can put it in the luggage area on each carriage, or keep it with you.

+ How do I know when I’m at the right station? Do they announce it or am I expected to just look for the signs? If they announce it how long before the train gets to the station do they do that?

Trains are a bitch for this. Look out for signs. Some trains tell you. Some have a flashing sign, some just leave you to guess. Estimate how long it will take to get there, and count how many stops there are before you reach your destination. Print it out or something.

The image changes? That’s such a cool idea! The little robot guy I can see right now in the corner is adorable!

Oh man, that really is the most beautiful phone I think I’ve ever seen. Your current one is nice though. I never used Ebay, but I did used to be addicted to laundromatic. net’s . Much easier than ebay in my opinion, you should check them out.

When I was in the UK, I just bought my ticket at the booth and went and waited for my train and got on it, I think there were a few that had a guy standing by the door, but usually no one checked I just got on & watched for signs to know when to get off. I miss the UK, I went there last summer, and really want to go back.

ah that ladyphone yes .. it’s nice my friend has it too. Here we got subscriptions or whatever you call them .. then you pay a montly amount of money where you can phone an x amount minutes with per month and the phone is completely free.

Weeeeeel hope you can sell on ebay. Ebay scares me .. the site is sooo confusing. I would recommend another site, but it’s dutch so useless for you haha. good luck !

i really love the new layout, it’s gorgeous :)

What kind of phone is your old one, what are the specs, etc? Because if my provider supports it, I would definitely buy it off you. I’ve been trying like hell to find it in the U.S., and nothing even comes close to it.

hmm… Luis and I (Luis is my hubby’s name) have discussed about selling on ebay. He and I have looked through several categories and came up with a plan. Usually fad items are good sellers. That is how people are making the money…. these fad items can also be bought in bulk fairly easy. Try looking up a few items. I will give you a good idea of some sections that I found that sell well that I am looking into:

- Hello Kitty/ Sanrio paraphernalia
- Italian Charms/ Bracelets
- Make-up
- Kool-aid jammer purses
- Eyebrow Rings/ Belly Rings / Nose Rings / Body Jewelry

i think this is how it works if i remember right.

You get on the train and you have to fit your suitcase where you can. usually near the doors there is room for them but it’s limited so try to be the first one on if it’s going to be busy that day.

There is a ticket dude that goes through the train as it’s going. They announce the stations. Some trains have fancy things that let you know which one is next but they usually have a map so you can remember the 2 stops before so you will be prepared. Depending on how crowded it is and how long the last run is to your station. I would get up at the before last one or shortly thereafter and get my back and wait at the door. They usually don’t stop for long and if you are like me and a clutz when rushed, it will give you time to step off lady like and get your suitcase off as well without completly falling off the train flat on your face on the platform.

I hope you have a blast!

Hey nice lay! x x x I know ebay is coffusing :S About trains/tubes if your in london then its pretty simple because there is a ticket offices, signs, leaflets etc. So if your talking about london transport then buy ya ticket and keep it with you, you only need it when going on and off trains (there are machines at the statoins you have to swipe it through. About suitcases id say keep it with you dont put it in the lugage area just incase spec in london, people will steal anyhthing. And the station on the train/tubes there are little maps inside on the actually train/tube so you can look/count to your station, there are maps you can look at too. But if you just look for a sign they are in red and blue on white walls so you cant miss it. x x x

I totally agree with you on that Ebay is confusing as hell. The swedish auctionsites that Im a member of isn’t that complicated. So I have never bought or sold anything through Ebay.

The layout looks nice. I have to remember to check back in a day or so and see if the image actually have changed ;)
