Aw man I can’t believe it, my WP has started getting spammed 
See. I’m so not happy, the reason I had to switch from B2 is because I was getting spammed so heavily and constantly that all my bandwidth was being used…I thought WP was meant to be unspamable :bomb:
Which are the best plugins and whatnot to fight it? I actually already have several isntalled but perhaps they are crappy ones, which do you all use? I hate getting my blogged spammed.
Gav isn’t here this week because his piece of crap car died :car:
I hate being in a long distance relationship, his car is out of action for 2 days but that means we don’t get to see each other for 2 weeks! I’ve always hated long distance but sometimes I struggle more with it than others - 2 and half years we’ve been doing it now and no sign of it ending with us living together at any point within the next year, it’s killing me :bigcry1:
Don’t do it people….if you are planning on doing it…don’t, get outta there before you get too involved and save yourself the fucking hassle!
(and if you are reading this Gav don’t get me wrong, you know I :throb: :throb: :throb: :throb: you…but you also know how much I hate long distance!)
I thought I had more to say…hmm…
The last few days i’ve been catching up on all of my television…Lost is still great but how strange is it to see other people and places on the Island? The Apprentice and The Apprentice Martha Stuart are stupid…am I the only one who’s going to get totally confused with 2 almost identical shows running at the same time? They could have at least staggered them somewhat so they aren’t at the same stage! The Amazing Race is as amazing as ever…loves it….can’t wait til season 9 though because rumour is that Kaysar and Janelle from BB6 are going to be running!! Alias - you may remember my rant about it last year after the final, it’s lost it’s flair….but my gosh is Vaughn really dead? I’ll be so sad, of all the shitty characters they could have killed off…and they killed of the lovely, gorgeous Vaughn?! The O.C is wank on a stick, i’m going to stop watching it…it’s so over-the-top and unrealistic and just…ugh.
Did you notice that they didn’t announce the winner from September yet even though it’s the 4th and the votes all got reset and whatnot, strange. Also looks like the same site is going to carry on entering again…it does suprise me that the owners of a site that is all about helping people and doing something nice for them would be so selfish….am I the only one? I hate selfish people.
I finally did something i’ve been meaning to do for ages…I created just one file called domainban.php with all the banned sites from my plugboards and called that within the scripts rather than using the old method….it’d take me about an hour (not quite) to ban one site as it was because I have like 70 (not quite) Plugboards on my sites (Sway plugboard, plugboard.org 88×31 board, plugboard.org 80×15 board, plugboard.org link dump and plugboard.org junk plugboard!)

I had a long-distance relationship…well 2 hours away…but he was in another state. LOL He drove down every weekend to stay with me, then I had him move in with me and finally we got married. LMAO I hope your situation can end soon. Hmm, that didn’t come out right. LOL I mean that I hope you all can live together soon so there’s no separation anymore.

Ah– comment spams, got to love them! lol I had that same problem, so I tried different stuff, but it usually never worked. They do have some plugs out there. I ended up finding this list of common words bots use in the comments to spam. I copied those words into the blacklisted list in WP Admin. I also switch to comments approval. Each time I get new spams, I copy what they put (as long as it’s not a commonly used word) and blacklist it. My spamming has pretty much stopped now. Blocking IPs sometimes helped.
Wow, you’re getting spammed while using WP?! Wow, that’s the first I’ve heard… I’m using WP also, and I haven’t gotten spammed… I hope that it won’t happen again!
I’m not sure how the new 1.5 WP works, but changing the name of wp-comments-post.php to something really odd (and making sure you change any references to it, of course) works a treat for my older version. Might work for 1.5.

You can prevent some spam by going to OPTIONS > DISCUSSION > then you find the Comment Moderation part. You copy +paste the common spam words (the link is there) into the box.
