Today is 9 months since I quit smoking

Well…I actually don’t remember the exact date I quit anymore, but it was somewhere between the 1st and the 5th of November last year! :sly:

A couple of points about it though that are bugging me…
1. Does anyone else think that the banners are totally misleading?
‘Win a free Ipod, Vote for this site’
To me that suggests that if you vote for me then you may win an Ipod, which unless i’m seriously missing something, isn’t the case. If you vote for me then you are helping me to possibly win an Ipod.
According to the Terms and Conditions for the contest we can make our own banners for it as long as they contain those words…but I don’t want my banners to contain those words as they seem misleading to me…anyone agree? :no:
2. Again, according to the T&C as I have read them…the only place I am allowed to directly link to my personal voting link is the site that I signed up with..IE here, Swaymyway.com . Correct me if I am wrong but that is what the following means right?
You may:
b. Place the banner or text link on every or any page on your Site as long as it’s on the same Domain You specified when You signed up for the contest.
and
You May NOT:
Place the banner or text link within any iframes, or use the link on any Site other than the Site you have specified when you signed up for the contest. The banner or text link must be placed on the same domain as the one You specified during sign-up.

Yet other people in the contest are linking to their vote link however and where ever they please, other people’s sites, when they leave comments, Plugboards and MBs etc
Are they cheating/bending the rules, or have I misunderstood the rules? If I am allowed to plug my vote link where ever I want it makes the contest about 100 times easier! That’s the whole reason I made the little site for the contest - so that I can still plug the thing but without directly posting my voting link on other sites! :scratchchin:
Anyhoo, congrats to VM-Online (I removed the link, since they are in 2nd place agaih…I don’t wanna send them any traffic lol) whom it has now been announced won July’s contest, I hope they enjoy their new toy :thumbsup:
In other news, last night Gav and I went to see Madagascar (hence the title of this entry lol). The cinema we went to is only about 10 miles from my house but we ended up doing 30 and it took 40 minutes to get there because we went the wrong way three times :duh:
It was pretty funny…the crazy german penguins we’re the best…and the lemur king was hilarious, especially the ‘I like to move it move it’ part :rotfl:
The end was crap though, it sort of didn’t make sense or feel like the end…and I was aggitated throughout because I had a freaking little kid sat next to me, fidgetting like crazy and talking away :hissyfit:
Finally…:shock::crazy::blush: at Tuesday nights Big Brother, I recorded it and watched it this afternoon…didn’t know what was coming…if I had i’d have covered my eyes. I remember when BB used to be good wholesome family fun!

Yeah, I think it’s wrong that some people are posting their links at places other than their sites… but at least you don’t have to vote for them if you don’t want to, and trust me, I don’t. I think the way you have it set up is a cool idea and I hate to see you take a chance and “cheat” and then get disqualified for it. I voted for you again today and your back in 4th. It’s still the beginning of the month so anything could happen =)

I got so sick of people cheating in that contest that I quit it. Its a missleading banner for sure, thats what I thought too but it just makes people want to click it so there
Now that I am out of the contest, I am going to be voting for you and not the cheaters

If some people are cheating isn’t there someone you can contact who can check this out? There should be some way.
Madagascar is one of the coolest movies ever. I loved it so much. I love it when he gets tranquilised and then goes into lala land and then he wakes up. Hahaha then it all happens again in fast mode. Oh I laughed for like 10 minutes!

Yea, kinda misleading. My friend thought that he might win an ipod by voting for my site (when i had the banner then).
Btw, I’ve been voting for you for around 3-4 days now. Hehe. And I used my school’s computer (different IP from mine) to vote too, cos it’s just a few clicks and I happen to be showing my blog to my friend.

i think what the website means is just that you can only advertise on your site and not anyone else’s. like you can put up as many buttons and banners as you want but as long as the place is your site. like you can’t put a comment on other people’s site telling em to vote for you =) madagascar is so funny! i went with my brother. i was gonna go see the island but since he’s coming with me and my friends.. we decided to watch madagascar instead. my brother’s only 9 so i don’t think he’ll like any other movie. the penguins are so cute! especially when they took over the boat and did those funky waddling moves. haha hilarious =P
